FAMOUS AND FAMOUS BRAND, THIS CHANEL IS HISTORY

Chanel, indeed this French brand has its echoes to various parts of the world. The brand, which is over 100 years old and founded by a woman, has become one of the top brands in the fashion world. Chanel itself is an important brand in every fashion item in the world.

However, did you know about Chanel itself?, a brand that was founded in France in 1909 by a woman named Gabrielle Chanel, who later opened a hat shop at 160 Boulevard Malesherbes.

He rents the ground floor of the Paris flat of socialite and textile entrepreneur Etienne Balsan. Since Flat Balsan is also a salon for hunting elite French sporting goods, Chanel has the opportunity to meet demi-mondaine mistresses, who is one of the women of fashion, from whom many men showcase their wealth such as clothes, jewelry and hats.

Chanel's name is taken from the name of its founder, Gabrielle Chanel who got the nickname Coco since she became a singer. As a fashion designer, Coco Chanel caters to women's tastes in dressing with blouses and suits, trousers and dresses, and jewelery (bijouterie) of simple design, which replaced the constructive and luxurious clothing and accessories of 19th century fashion.

Coco Chanel can sell the hats she designs and makes. Her success makes her independent from her financial sponsor, Balsa, a socialite. While at the Salon, Coco Chanel befriends Arthur 'Boy' Capel, an English socialite and friend of Etienne Balsan, an upper-class polo player, Chanel also becomes Boy Capel's mistress. Despite these circumstances, Boy Capel considers the results of the business to come from Coco Chanel.

In 1910, Coco Chanel independently financed her shop, Chanel Modes at 21 rue Cambon, Paris. Since the locals already owned clothing stores, the business lease limited Chanel to selling women's hats, not couture. Two years later, in 1913, the couture shops Deauville and Biarritz offered pret-a-porter sportswear for women, with practical designs that made the shirts sportable.

The First World War (1914-1918) influenced European fashion through the scarcity of materials, and the mobilization of women. By that time, Chanel had opened a large dress shop at 31 rue Cambon, near the Ritz Hotel, in Paris: among the items on sale were flannel blazers, straight line linen skirts, sailor blouses, long sweaters made of t-shirts, and skirt and jacket suit.

Coco Chanel uses jersey fabric because of its physical characteristics as a garment, such as curtains—how it falls on a woman's body—and how well it fits into a simple garment design. With regard to tailoring, some of Chanel's designs were derived from military uniforms usually made during the war, and by 1915, the designs and clothing produced by the House of Chanel were known throughout France.

In 1921, to complete the outfit, Coco Chanel commissioned perfumer Ernest Beauz to make perfume for the House of Chanel. Including perfume No. 5, named after Chanel's preferred number of samples. Initially a bottle of No. 5 de Chanel is a gift for Chanel clients. The perfume's popularity prompted the House of Chanel to offer it for retail sale in 1922.

In 1923, to explain the success of her clothing, Coco Chanel told Harper's Bazaar magazine that simplicity of design is the key to elegance.

Even now, Coco Chanel's ideas continue to inspire many other designers. The emergence of product bags with long straps added to them makes users more practical and free to use them in their daily life or even at events. Interestingly this idea came because it was inspired by soldiers during the first world war.

After a long journey finally Coco Chanel died at the age of 87 years due to a heart attack. This incident also occurred on January 10, 1971 at the Ritz Hotel Paris. It is this long journey that has been able to conquer the upper classes by always creating her work from a poor woman who was previously considered a nobody. The company is also successful in generating revenues of more than 160 million dollars per year. Until recently the private multinational company was owned by Alain Wertheimer and Gerard Wertheimer, grandsons of Pierre Wertheimer, who had an early business partner of couturiere Coco Chanel. The company employed 1,270 employees in 2010 and has 310 locations worldwide. Chanel S.A. as a couture house specializes in haute couture and ready-to-wear, luxury goods and fashion accessories. And until now, the brand that is the choice of the top class still maintains its consistency in the world-class fashion world.
